The Value of a Pelham Puppet

At the shop, I am often asked to value a Pelham Puppet. I never like to make a comment on my opinion of what it is worth, as it's worth what anyone will pay for it on a particular day and time. Pelham Puppets are like any other antiques and collectables, if you love it and can afford it, it's probably worth buying!

If you are selling, make sure you do some online research.

The photo here is an 'SS Girl' Pelham Puppet, she's beautiful and although not especially rare or sought after, her colours, immaculate face paint and styled hair may make her more valuable than a similar 'SS Girl' puppet with less attractive clothes. The materials used can often determine the price of a puppet. A 1963 type of Wolf with jazzy retro 70's trousers will probably sell for more than one with plain or checked trousers in unpleasing colours.

I have loads of Pelham puppets bought in 70s and 80s (they are at mums at moment getting them next week) I am putting feelers out as to where to sell them.

I have a wolf Pelham puppet. That I brought new in the early seventies.
It’s in very good condition, but no box.
Is it of interest to you

I have a dragon Pelham Puppet with one broken tooth - otherwise good condition.
Plus a lovely pony in very good condition.
Both from the '70s & in original boxes.

I have two, the Boy and Girl. Both in excellent condition and in original boxes, although plastic cover has deteriorated. I am 64 and had them for Christmas when I was about 8.
Wondering their value.
I live in Mandurah Western Australia.

Hi!

I have a Professor Popkiss Pelham puppet. I have had him for over 60 years. Unfortunately, I did as kids do, I removed his jacket for some reason and there is no box.

Many years ago, I sent a message to Bonhams Auctions (I'm trying to find their reply) and they came back then with an estimate of £150.

What would he be worth now?

I have a Cinderella, Gypsy Girl and poodle. They are all carefully placed in their original boxes and in mint condition. I was going to hand them down to my daughter but she doesn't want them so I am looking for a caring home for them.

I have nine late 40's Pelham puppets all in their original boxes and unused since the mid-50s. They are:
(Large boxes) Skeleton, Lulabelle
(Medium boxes) McBoozle, Witch, Clown, Wolf, Camel
(Small boxes) Catterpillar, Parrot
All are in good condition.
