'Animal' from the Muppets

Hello from a snowy Norfolk. I've just made a cake for the birds and walked the dogs, now I'm in the warm and updating the shop. I've had a bit of a hold up on new puppets due to the post delays but I added a few yesterday and more will be added this week. This Animal puppet a creation of Jim Hensons in 'The Muppets' is in excellent condition, he has a string attached to the top of his head to enable the puppeteer to open and close his mouth. Mike Mercury from the Supercar Gerry Anderson series is also back in the shop...a different slightly later version this time.

I wanted to say that all of the strung puppets are always sent untangled and with no knots or ties, unless described otherwise.
I wonder which puppet should be 'puppet of the week' ? I'll have a think.

It's snowing!

Hello! It's a snowy day today, we've had a few inches fall in Norfolk.
I haven't had too many puppets to add to the brown boxed pages recently, but that's about to change! By the end of the week there will be a few of each type and by the beginning of February a lot more brown and yellow boxed puppets of all types. They will be filling these pages, so be sure to keep looking. I'll always add the puppet to the 'coming soon' page to give at least 24 hours notice before it is for sale in the shop in case there is a special one you've been looking for.

Puppet of the Week

I am excited about some puppets that will be arriving in the shop in a couple of weeks. At the moment I am putting the caterpillar as 'Puppet of the Week' reduced to £25. I have this puppet in a few different colourways, so please ask me if you'd like to see the choice.
It's still cold and wet out and I don't feel much like trudging around the markets and fairs to find puppets. Today, I heard of somebody who looks for puppets for me just missing out on buying four Pelham Puppets at a boot fair ( flea market) for £2 each! So,they are still out there, it's just finding them that's difficult. I will keep trying my best to bring you interesting puppets....so keep looking! Have a good week.

Year of the Dragon near its end!

Happy New Year!
I was just looking at the Chinese New Year dates and found that we are in the Year of the Dragon right now. So, before the Chinese year ends in February when it will become the Year of the Snake, here is the dragon for sale in the shop. In fact there are two, equally excellent condition, one an earlier version with pointed fangs and the later one from the 1970's with the shorter fangs ( this one an earlier 1960's type ). Both have great colouring and hand painted as always with Pelham Puppets, all different and individual. I always take a photo of the actual puppet you are buying, even if I have a second one, apparently the same, but not. The baby dragon is an example of very different painting according to who was in the work room painting at the time....deep colourful splodges or light brushwork, all are individual and that's what is so appealing. Baby Dragon is also available from the shop.
