Today I added an extra page to the website. It is for 1963 tagged puppets. They have a small material label tucked away on the clothes or sometimes visible on the outside and these are popular with collectors as they were not made for long. The SL Dachshund was added to the shop yesterday and is in excellent condition. I'm hoping to build up the shop so that it will have a very good range of all types of puppets for everyone who collects, whether it be Walt Disney type or Alice in Wonderland or Pelham Puppets in general. It takes time, but having only been 'open' for 6 months we are not doing too badly. The Add to Cart system seems to work, it is fine for UK and Europe sales but other Worldwide countries still should make contact for an invoice.
Some spare boxes and controls with strings attached are available if you haven't seen those. Please keep looking and thank you so much for your support.

Well after a lot of work, I have created an 'Add to Cart' tag to each item, they have to be created individually, so it's taken a while to complete the shop, but I think I've managed. If you use this system to buy something, postage will be a set amount. This may be more than I would quote by invoice or it may be less. Please continue to buy in the old way, if you have already been happy with that. However if there is a rare item you do not wish to miss out on, please use the Cart and pay to complete the transaction. As regular customers will know, I usually reply within a few hours and always on the same day. The new system will be easier for people who simply wish to buy and pay quickly and don't need any further details. Let's hope it works for us all. While I am adding the check out system to the website, it's probably easier to 'contact me' as before for purchases. This will, of course, always still be one way to buy. It's nice to discuss a purchase and make sure all is as you want it to be, but it's equally a good idea for an online shop to have a check out facility. I'm figuring it out, but it's going to take a little while until all the stock is itemized for check out. Each item has to be logged into paypal individually. Here's a little Pelham Puppet Nurse added to the shop today. Stock continues to change regularly, so please keep looking! Today is the State Opening of Parliament and the Queens body guards, often referred to as Beefeaters are looking very similar to our Pelham Puppet Beefeater on special offer this week. His costume is a very good copy, even down to the decoration around the hat. He is reduced from £150 to £120 a rare and difficult to find 1980's De-Luxe puppet Range. Yesterday I was lucky enough to meet David Harper the TV antiques expert. I showed him a few photos of the Alice in Wonderland Pelham Puppets I have sold through this site. There are so many different areas of antiques and collectables and everyone has their particular expertise. I am trying very hard to expand my limited knowledge to other Vintage items particularly toys and I find twitter is brilliant for making friends in the same trade. I never thought I would know how to use twitter but I find it more fun than other social networking sites and have 'met' some wonderful kind people who are always keen to help a novice. I have 278 followers now and hoping for that number to grow, so if you have a twitter account, please follow me and hear about anything happening in the 'Vintage Pelham Puppet shop'. If you have any old toys to sell, please get in touch |
