Puppies for Christmas? No... Puppets for Christmas!

I hope you are all managing your collection and finding some great puppets, some that surprise and delight you.
As Christmas is drawing nearer, you might be thinking of buying a puppet for a Christmas gift. We can help you to buy, but also, we will always refund 100% if the puppet bought isn't quite what the recipient wanted. There's no need to exchange, a refund is fine.
We usually ask that you contact us within 2 weeks of receiving the item, but for the holiday season, we're happy to extend that period to two weeks after Christmas Day.

Make sure you check in with the shop daily for new additions.
Stock is added from midday to 9pm Monday to Saturday.
We are open to chat by phone, between 10am and 7pm if someone is available.
We do have a chat box facility for the site but didn't think we would put it into operation, I know I always click away when a little box comes up to ask me if I need help!

Christmas Shopping!

It's November and I think I'm just about allowed to mention the C word.
We have some stock to get photographed ready for the shop and masses already available to buy.
I know this is the time of year when partners and friends of collectors will make a purchase without really knowing too much about the puppet. We can help and try to advise.

Please be careful when buying from any site. If you are intending to spend a fair amount of money on a puppet, you need to look at the item and then look at all the available images both online and in books. Search for the title of your puppet and look at all the images available to you. On our website you can use the search toolbar. The search is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you will have to add 'SM' or an extra word for the search to give you the results you wanted. Make sure you check the box 'include out of stock'.
Usually your search bar on your computer will give you image results from auction and some previous ebay listings.
The rarer puppets are sometimes difficult to see in many images. Due to the nature of the manufacturing of Pelham Puppets, all being individually painted and made up with various costumes, those are the puppets that we will probably not be able to see many examples of. A wonderful early rare puppet sold last week on ebay that fell into that category. A gem of a puppet.

But, some rare puppets are more generic, note the three Bulls from the 1963 Tagged range of puppets, all have the same or very little variation, in costume and paintwork. These are ones you can easily find on the internet for comparisons. Sometimes puppets have been sold, positive feedbacks left, and then the exact same item is listed for sale by the same seller a little later. So, questions should be asked, why it has been returned in the first place, did it sell etc etc. It is never a good idea to question current ebay/auction listings on groups for lots of reasons, but if you are at all in doubt leave it out! As we always say, another will come along soon enough.

I hope I haven't caused any confusion for anyone. There are some great puppets for sale all over the internet, but just because you are being told the item is original and immaculate, is not confirmation that it is.
