Royal Mail Price Increase

I'm pondering on the problem I had this week. Royal Mail have raised their prices dramatically for parcels that have a depth measurement of over 8cm. This means a Pelham Puppet that could be posted for £2.70 1st class now costs £5.65 without recorded added on. I think that's a huge increase and of course that goes up for any parcel over 1kg which most of mine are and will cost £10 for 1st recorded. I'm guessing many people who sell on the internet will be using couriers more and more. I will probably be doing that for UK purchases unless Royal Mail is requested at the higher price. The courier is a door to door service, a bit inconvenient to stay in, but worth the savings. At least I thought so, I am weighing up the pros and cons at the moment. My first three parcels I sent by courier last week have had mixed success. One has not arrived yet, another the outer box arrived crushed ( contents luckily well protected with foam chippings ) and the another one is awaiting customs duties to be paid I believe. Royal Mail is certainly easier to deal with. So,for the moment I'll look at the options and offer you the choice before I raise the invoice. International Sales will remain as before unless the parcel is over 2kg. I have a small parcel to post to Europe tomorrow, the cost will be £4.95 Standard Airmail, if I was posting it to UK it would cost £5.65 it doesn't seem right...does it? I wonder how it will all pan out.I'm having too much fun finding retro toys, usually wanting to keep them rather than put them up for sale! I bought a sweet black dolly today, her eyes shut nicely when she lies down, oh dear, I feel she may soon have a name. She may or may not appear on the 'Other Vintage'! Have a look at that page, I have listed a very rare French Disney Mickey Mouse Alarm Clock today by Bayard in very nice condition from 1950's. He was nodding away and I wondered if the photo would be clear, but it seems ok.Now, I need a 'Puppet of the Week' to choose.Let me know if there is one you'd like reduced.
