Postage and Packing for Pelham Puppets

Today, I received these two chaps, Pinky and Perky. They left the owner intact and undamaged, I'd seen photos. Sadly, and even more for the owner who was selling her fathers puppets, they arrived like this, so badly damaged. They were 2 of my coming soon items.These puppets for anyone who doesn't already know are so fragile and even a jolt will crack the mould. They need to be wrapped around in their own box so that they can't move about, if you can hear them rattle and move, it's no good. One of my customers laughed when they bought the 'Solid Crown SL King' from me recently. I had warned them before that it was well wrapped and they would think I was completely mad. I had double boxed it, used cardboard cut around the fragile crown  prongs and so much bubble wrap you could open a corner store. The comment came back that my packages would survive a drone attack! I was pleased, these puppets are travelling all over the world and we are responsible for their demise when that happens. If it's survived so long intact, it's up to us to make sure it arrives in good condition. But, it did make me think that even just with the numerous puppets I have received from auctions and private sellers with damage in transit, that these puppets are slowly getting scarcer. My recent damaged ones have been a Hansel, Gretel, and an SL Queen, all private sellers who didn't know how to pack, it wasn't their fault. So, my advice is when you buy a puppet, especially these moulded head type, make a special point of asking that it be packed securely within its box, don't feel bad about saying it, and assume they know, tell them. It's better for everyone in the end. So, the new puppets I have received so far, will be in the shop on Monday with more to arrive during the week. The summer is always quiet but a few new customers have found the shop which is lovely and I look forward to helping everyone find their 'Wish List' puppets. I'm sorry that Pinky and Perky have been taken off the 'coming soon' list, but you see why.
