One of a beautiful collection of puppets from the original owner, a gentleman in his 80's who has looked after them since, all blue label boxed in excellent condition.

Type LA Wags late 40's.

He is made from wooden balls and bamboo limbs.

Paintwork is very good on the body and limbs.

He retains a red felt tongue and wears the red wooden collar.

Early Wags have thin leather ears, later types have felt ears.

This one is an early one and has thin leather ears with fur! I haven't seen Wags with fur ears but I believe these to be original as one has had a repair at the top where it is nailed to the head and they show wear to the leather.

Strung on the early style extra long plywood control.

Box is original to the puppet and has no end stamp, often typical of the early characters.

It is in good condition. The home made bag is in the box.
