Type SS Big Ears, the first version made by Pelham with a wooden ball head dating to early 1950's. Later versions had a moulded composition head and are more commonly found. This puppet together with the Noddy with wooden ball head are always referred to as Type SL on the boxes. One felt ear is missing othewise he is in good aged condition, just some signs of general age. The clothes are good used,the felt buckles are very good. The neck scarf is aged and frayed. The red felt hat is darkened at the front but still soft. The face paint is good with no paint loss on the metal pin eyes which is unusual. The wool beard and hair are grubby. Unboxed.
