Type SL Frog Butler one of the rarer characters from the Alice in Wonderland series. The puppet is in generally good condition with a few condition flaws. The clothes are good, the green frock coat is good but has some faint foxing as seen in the photo of the back. The trousers are good. There is a hole in the waistcoat at the front, this can be seen in the image of the puppet standingwith the box.. The bow at his neck has also a very small hole in it. There are a few very small rust marks on the costume. The head and face paint is good with no damage, the red bow is still attached to the back of the head. The decorative binding is still attached to the shoulders. The two head screw eyes are slightly rusted and one wrist has rusted eyelets. The control has early coloured buffers, correct for this puppet. The box is not original although has been used for this puppet throughout its history. It is shelf worn and has some signs of dampdamage and is stamped Fairy Godmother, it is believed this was the puppet belonging to the sibling and the boxes were switched.
