Type SL Duchess the sought after character from the Alice in Wonderland range of 11 puppets.

Finding the any of these rarer types is good but to find them in superb clean condition with no flaws is preferable for holding value.

She has a good clean dress with cape from the same design but different colourway fabric. This fabric seems to be a popular one used for duchess.

She has a good headdress with the flimsy decoration still attached.

Screw eyes are still bright and rust free. 

She has small composition hands and white and black painted shoes. Slightly later ones will have all black shoes and earlier types may have all white shoes as I understand it.

She wears a thick cotton short skirt under the gown to hold the gown out.

The moulded face features have good bright paintwork.

She comes in her stamped original box with original tissue stamped Made in England! Also instruction leaflet.
