Type SM N***** Minstrel 1950's. This Minstrel has no banjo, I think it is missing rather than this version being too early to have the instrument addition. The felt hat is not made from the thicker felt as used in the early types.
Clothes are a little aged, the felt hat has moth damage. His real fur hair is full and face paint is generally good with some paint loss under his nose. There is a line in the wood but looks to be an original wood flaw from the piece that was used in manufacture and not a fault. He retains a felt tongue.
The box is stamped correctly and poor condition.
