BLACK LINEN THREAD
Black linen thread, unwaxed. 18/3. The brand is Barbour. This is the same type of thread that was used for Pelham Puppets in the 1950's. It should be used for the early puppets that have black strings, typically in the brown boxes before coloured buffers were introduced.
The 18/3 is the thread count, so this has 3 threads (3 ply) twisted in a firm twist and then reversed to give a soft but strong thread. This is much more authentic than the harsh nylon thread sometimes used for restringing.
We are starting with the black to see if the demand is there for the original type of thread.
Each piece of card has plenty, 9 metres, to restring one SM SL or SS type puppet with some left over.
A puppet should stand 95cm from hanging hook to the floor I am told.
You will receive 2 pieces of card plenty to restring 2 puppets.
