TYPE LL LULABELLE
Lulabelle dates to the late 1940's and is from the Wonky era of the Pelham Puppets timeline. She measures approx 18" tall.
She has a little necklace made from felt squares.( later types have fur stoles, some early versions have raffia necklaces ) She carries both maracas which are in good condition and both still rattle well. Her raffia skirt is mostly good. The paintwork is good, there is minimal loss on the bamboo limbs, one arm has a small piece missing at the top as shown in the last image. The face paint is good, with large wonky style painted eyes. She has painted rubber lips. Her tightly curled hair is good.
The small three colours of delicate feathers are tied with wires to the head screw eyes and are in very good condition, these are often missing or aged.
She has brass rings at her ankles and wrists.
She has extra strings to her body to swing her hips and do the hula dance! The control still has the red Wonky Toys paper label on it. **The red head string has a tie in it **
The original box is very shelf worn and damp stained, but carries the red Wonky label and Lulabelle name on the top.
