TYPE SM KING
Type SM King, a very early version from late 1940's.
He has wonky style toggle upper legs, the top part painted dark brown. The lowerer body part also wonky era style.
King has very good face paint and a jaw that opens well showing his felt tongue intact.
He has a card crown and wooden dome with a round ball on top, only seen on the very early Kings.
He has poor aged cotton wadding wool type hair, the same for eyebrows too.
He has drop lead hands.
The trousers are stuffed which is unusual. I have tried to see what they are stuffed with and it seems to be the same old cotton wadding as his hair.
The jacket has wide sleeves and cuffs. It is in good condition with minor ageing where screw eyes have rusted underneath.
There is no undershirt only a cravat and material at the neck. (See image) It seems odd this is missing as there is no damage to the other clothes.
The lower body piece feels like the wonky style bodies with the toggle upper legs.
The control is an early type and he has been restrung on thin black linen thread.
Box is stamped correctly and is in used condition.
Puppet came from original owner with the Dandy puppet sold last week. (box was one from stock that suits perfectly)
