TYPE SM HUNTSMAN
Type SM Huntsman 1950's, one of the rarer SM type from that period.
He doesn't often come up for sale.
He has good face paint and hook nose but above this is some restoration to the wood, it looks like a wood filler. There is also some at the left side of his jaw but I have seen this type of material at the jaw before so not sure if this is any restoration. His mouth opens well.
The puppet has moth damage as often happens with this puppet. The yellow waistcoat in particular has suffered. The red coat is good. He wears a cravat tucked in to the top.
He wears a black felt riders cap with small blue felt bow attached. The cap has no damage.
The white breeches are good with no significant damage.
The felt tongue is still intact.
He has typical Huntsman character fair hair which is very good and also a small moustache. Eyebrows are intact either side of the repair.
Strung on coloured strings with aged buffers.
The box is original to the puppet and is stamped Type SM Huntsman.
Instructions included.
